COMMON QUESTIONS

Are you accepting new clients?

I am accepting new clients. Appointments are available Tuesday (via Telehealth) and Thursday (in office).

How long is a session?

Typically, sessions are 50 minutes long. I offer longer sessions to individuals and families that are in crisis and need more time.

How often will I see you?

I typically meet with my clients weekly. On occasion, some clients are seen twice a week for more intensive sessions, or less frequently, depending on the need. As progress is made, session frequency often decreases.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, Visa and MasterCard.

What insurance plans do you take?

At this time I only accept Tricare.

How do I make an appointment?

Making an appointment is easy. Call or text me at 916.407.4711 or email me at corinne@counselingwithcorinne.com.

Who do you see in your private practice?

I work with individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and families. Common reasons for engaging in services include: depression, anxiety, child behavior problems, stress, phase of life, Christian counseling, and relationship problems.

What are your therapeutic specialties?

I specialize in providing trauma therapy for children and adolescents utilizing the evidenced-based practice called Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This treatment is appropriate for children who have experienced trauma recently or in the past and continue to experience undesirable symptoms (i.e. anxiety, depression, behavior issues) as a result. TFCBT can also be modified to treat adults who have been exposed to trauma. I have also been trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) which is another evidenced-based practice used to improve behavior problems in children under 8 y/o. Facets of this treatment can also be adapted for use with older children. Click on the links below to find out more about these modalities.

How does your Christian faith impact your counseling services?

As a therapist who identifies as Christian, I understand the importance of faith, religion, and spirituality.  I welcome clients of all spiritual and religious backgrounds, as well as people who consider themselves spiritual but not religious. It is also important to know that treatment will never be hindered if you have no interest in integrating faith or religion in your sessions.

What if I still don't know if counseling is for me?

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to help you make this decision. Counseling is a commitment to making your life better. It can feel overwhelming to find someone to trust. After the first session, if you feel that you may need another therapist, I will provide you referrals. You are not obligated to continue with me. I want to see you succeed.

What is your fee?

My full fee is $150 per 50-minute individual session, and $175 for an 80-minute family session. My fee is paid directly by you to me at the end of each session.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
